The maintenance team has been very busy on both the golf course and the driving range.

Over the next few weeks, you will notice several projects taking place around the property. One of the main areas of focus has been upgrading the sprinkler system on the walkway leading onto the putting green. This area sees a significant amount of golf traffic, and the previous irrigation system was not providing the coverage we needed. The crew is nearly finished with this improvement.

The new section of the putting green has also been experiencing some challenges. We have re-sodded a few areas that were not establishing properly, and we have roped off the bentgrass for the remainder of this week and possibly into next week to give it time to heal. Thank you for your patience while this area recovers.

The crew has also been working on several other areas:

On Pacific 4 and 5, we continue to dial in the new irrigation operating system. It is working very well, although we are currently seeing a little too much water in some areas. We are making daily adjustments to fine-tune the system. At the start of Pacific 5, we have also been addressing a very dry area. We have now identified the issue and expect this area to green up soon.

The Academy area at the driving range will be getting a new safety net installed next week. Along with this project, we will also be trimming the hedges and completing additional work on the range itself. To complete these projects safely and efficiently, the range will be closed for two days from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Today, we completed a verti-cut and topdress on the greens. Hopefully, this will help reduce some of those nasty Poa seed heads. We will also continue verti-cutting the collars to help firm them up. This process will take some time, but it will improve playing conditions.

The crew is also adding more sand to several bunkers, and regular maintenance continues daily across the property.
