HP Men’s Club – Prime Minister’s Cup – Team Event – (Sept 21st through Sept 27th)

Here is an opportunity to play in the first annual HP Men’s Prime Minister’s Cup – Team Event.

You may have heard of the President’s cup, but due to popular demand we are rebranding this event as the Prime Minister’s Cup.

 Players will play either fourball (best ball), or match play (individual matches) against competitors to earn points for your team. 

Register as a single, pair or foursome.  Your pairs and foursomes will play together but compete against one another.  If you wish to play at the same time register as a pair or foursome

1. Each player must have a handicap on the Golf Canada web site.  Players without a handicap must supply 5 recent score cards. (100% of player handicap will be used for scoring purposes).
2. All players are responsible for booking their own tee times for this event.   There are no reserved tee times for this event.
3. The team with which you represent (Highland or Pacific) will be determined by our guest captains. (To be determined)
4. Teams that enter as a twosome will be playing two 9-hole heads up matches (match play) against your playing opponent.  Each 9 holes (Highland and Pacific) will be worth 1 (one) point.  Matches that are tied after 9 holes will earn ½ point (0.5) for your team; for a maximum total of 2 (two) points per team.  Please note that after the first 9 holes has been played – both players start back at even (zero points).
5. Teams that enter as a foursome will be playing two 9-holes matches – fourball (best ball) on the Pacific side and then again fourball (best ball) on the Highland side.  Each 9 hole match will earn 2 (two) points for their team; in the event that teams are tied after 9 holes each team will win 1 (one) point for your team; for a maximum total of 4 (four) points per team.  Please note that after the first 9 holes has been played – both teams start back at even (zero points).
6. Strokes will always be based off the lowest handicap player in each group.   For example – Fred HCP 5, Bob HCP 7, John HCP7, Frank HCP 15.   Fred is lowest – 5 HCP – he will receive zero strokes; Bob and John will get 2 strokes each (7 – 5 = 2); Franck will get 10 strokes (15 – 5 = 10).  All strokes will be taken on the lowest HCP holes – Stay tuned for the new hole ranking…..
7. Due to fall course conditions – we will be playing lift clean and place (within 6 inches) – everywhere (fairways, fringe, and rough) except in penalty areas, on the greens, and in bunkers (where you will play the ball as it lies).
8. On the greens – only members of your opposing team can concede puts (standard match play format).
9. As groups will be playing on different days there will be some “luck of the draw” with respect to the weather.  All play will be from the White tees.

11. The members of the winning team for the “HP Prime Minister’s Cup” will receive a $40 Highland Pacific gift card.
